1- Wow congratulations to Maher Zain for his astonishing debut, Thank You Allah which was released by Awakening Records somewhere in November last year. To tell you the truth, I am not really a fan of Maher Zain but I have to give the guy a super salute for his wonderful contribution to the Islamic Entertainment world. A fan of his music? Absolutely in the positive!

Tahniah Malaysia. Akhirnya garuda terbenam dicakar anak harimau.

Nasyid Cafe: Nasyid Irama Second Class?
NASYID IRAMA SECOND CLASS???
Oleh Pito In Heart.

Nasyid Cafe: Islamic Heavy Metal?
1- Yes. Unbelievable isnt it? There were are a few local metal bands that have ventured into that realm. Islamic Heavy Metal. Maybe all of you out there have heard of Al Farabi band. Well, I am not going to talk about them since they got enough publicity already. I am going to write about the more obscure bands and some you would not believe used to release Islamic heavy metal records.

Nasyid Cafe: Lagu-Lagu Nasyid Yang Memualkan.

Nasyid Cafe: Halal Meat Nasheed.
Halal Meat |
1- The name of the is kind of odd right? What kind of nasheed group would choose Halal Meat as a moniker but who cares. Well, as odd as the name, their music is not your typical nasheed music. Halal Meat is a percussive experimental nasheed band from Toronto, Canada.

Nasyid Cafe: Generasi Peminat Nasyid Malaysia Yang Sempit.

Nasyid Cafe: Nasyid Jiwang Ala Islam by Kamal La Great.
Preface by Mr.Benign: Finally I got myself a guest writer to write me an entry for NasyidCafe. His name is Ahmad Kamal, my roomate when we were both still reading law (yes, we read not study law) in the awesome Garden of Knowledge and virtue, UIA. Kamal used to be in several nasyid groups back in the days and was the president of the university's Nasyid Club back in 2005/06. So you better not mess with this guy. He practiced law for a few years and decided that court rooms and cranky subordinate court judges were too lame for his liking thus calling it a day. Now, he is one of the many legal managers for one of the biggest telco company in Malaysia and he also blogs when he got the time. I forced him to write something for my blog and without any hesitation he agrees to throw some right and left jabs to the lame and dull Malaysia nasyid scene. Visit his blog at www.thenameiskamal.blogspot.com to read his witty sense of humor. I may not agree to everything he wrote but hell, this is one funny piece. If you dont have any sense of humor and needs a dictionary to understand the word pun, wit and ironi, you can stop reading right now and go play with your ABC cards, junior.

Nasyid Cafe: Making The Band part 3.
Part 3.
1- Let us continue with the third part of the entry. So after I accepted the invitation to be a member of Marjaan, I quickly bonded with all of them and started to perform at all of their shows. During that time, the members of Marjaan were Wan Hazar (now with Wildan), Fadhli Mustafa, Hahmarol Azil and me. Hahmarol decided to leave the group due to commitment issues and he was replaced by Khalil Yusof from another Nasheed group called Irfan. Khalil Yusof almost made it into Far East, he even performed with the group but to our luck that gig never materialized.

Nasyid Cafe: Fatih Acappella.
1- Fatih is a nasheed acappella group from the isle of Indonesia and one of my favorite nasheed group from there besides Gradasi and Snada (both acappella nasheed groups). I was introduced to this quintet of five extremely talented young lads through youtube. I was pretty much amazed with one of their song called Futur, which is also one of my all time favorite Fatih song.

Nasyid Cafe: Nasyid & Intelektualism.
Nasyid Cafe: Aa-shiq-al-Rasul.
1- I am currently listening to a song called The Messenger by a five piece nasheed group from Birmingham, England called Aa'shiq Al Rasul. I like the song very much for its simplicity and minimalism. You will be getting the similar vibe with Raihan's first album. All percussive and harmonies. Well, ok except the harmonies. Harmony wise, there was nothing for me to enjoy here. I guess they tend to minimize the harmonies as well. Too bad.

Nasyid cafe: Making The Band Part 2.
PART 2:
1- Where were we? Yes, Hizbi. It was an awesome experience with that group that I will totally keep dear to my heart. It was with Hizbi that I learned more about harmonies and arrangements. Me, Abdullah Abdul Rahman, Azri Hamdan, Ahmad Kamal and Mohd Azhar were all law students and we were all best of friends, well at some points during that time line.

Nasyid Cafe: Nasyid DIY part 3.
PROMOSI. Macam mana cara nak buat promosi. Sebab takde label yang support so promosi kena buat sendiri.

Nasyid Cafe: Nasyid DIY part 2.
Macam mana nak buat lagu sendiri?
0- Gunakan formula basic ni, Verse-Chorus-2ndVerse-Chorus-Bridge-Chorus-End. Kalau dalam music RnB selalunya time bridge ni lah penyanyi dia nyanyi tarik tinggi tinggi atau nyanyi sampai menggigil gigil. Verse boleh la buat dalam lingkungan 30-40 seconds. Selalunya 8 bar.

Nasyid Cafe: Nasyid DIY.
Maafkan saya kerana bahasanya sedikit pasar.
